Craig Counsell first wanted his old coach at Notre Dame on his staff when he took the Brewers’ managerial job in 2015, but the San Diego Padres refused to let Milwaukee interview him. Murphy did become the Padres’ interim manager later in 2015 after the firing of Bud Black. Murphy and the Padres parted ways following the 2015 season, freeing him up to come to Milwaukee Hunter Strickland Jersey. Since then Murphy has been a colorful character that has been a major part of changing the culture and turning the fortunes of the Milwaukee Brewers. Murphy is expected to make a full recovery.
